Classic Wooden Shed Specifications

All of our wooden sheds have these specifications:

• They are reinforced
• They are 3/4″ / 19mm thick
• We use kiln-dried, tongue & groove treated timber
• We only use Grade-A Pine
• Our wood stain/preserver is Oil-Based
• Single or Double-Doors are available
• Galvanised bolt-locks and hinges as standard
• Torched-on felts (with a 20 year guarantee!)
• 4″ support beams

• Door height: 6ft 2″

Base requirements

Unlike their steel shed counterparts, Wooden Sheds require no specific bases. Our team will provide the blocks required to raise your shed. You just need to have a reasonably level surface in place! It really is that simple?

Why do the sheds need to be raised up?

Wooden Sheds need to be raised up to prevent premature rotting. If a shed is raised up on blocks, you’ll get decades out of it. If a wooden shed is built flush to the ground, it will rot quite quickly. A wooden shed that sits on grass (or even concrete) will in the vast majority of cases, always be in contact with water. This doesn’t allow the shed to dry out and creates ideal conditions for the wood to be exploited and broken down quickly. Simply popping your shed a few inches off the ground negates all this and gives you considerably more bang for you buck!

If you’re looking for something that wouldn’t be considered ‘usual’ in size or design, include a hand-drawn sketching of what you need; don’t worry, it doesn’t need to be professional, but it will help us get a more accurate idea of what you want.
